<p>Some companies create the curve.</p>
<p>And then there are companies that try to get their slippery fingers on the curve and keep it from, well, curving.</p>
<p>One <a href="http://paidcontent.org/article/419-mags-to-their-digital-units-drop-dead/">example recently is the magazine industry</a>.  </p>

<p>We know how well that industry is doing.  Good luck with that.</p>
<p>Another company I&#8217;ve seen do that recently is Dockers.</p>

<p>Dockers is owned by Levi&#8217;s, which is a privately held company, so it&#8217;s not that easy to get an idea of how they&#8217;re doing.  But, next time you&#8217;re out and about, take a look around and see how many men are wearing khakis who aren&#8217;t on the job. </p>
